It’s 3 o’clock in the morning. You’ve been at your layover for five hours, waiting for a delayed flight. You have a presentation at 9 o’clock sharp. You’ll make it, but there won’t be time for sleep. The last thing you want is to give a sluggish, tired presentation, or to look like you just dragged yourself out of bed after a restless night. So what can you do?
It’s WellnessFX’s final chat with the Bulletproof Executive and upcoming author of the Better Baby Book, Dave Asprey. He and our CEO, Jim Kean, both offer quick, easy tips for overcoming sleep deprivation and putting on your best face when you need it most:
- High Quality Coffee – Despite the negative label coffee has received over the years, more and more studies are showing that drinking coffee actually decreases risk for certain types of liver cancer, type II diabetes, and Parkinson’s disease. And, of course, it can help wipe that grumpy frown right off your face! When traveling, you should carry your own coffee and avoid the overly processed stuff they serve at airports and hotels.
- Liposomal Glutathione – when your body doesn’t get enough sleep your liver becomes less efficient, and when your liver becomes less efficient, toxins start to build up. Liposomal glutathione is one of the most important antioxidants in the body and the higher the content in the liver, the more efficient it is at cleaning harmful materials from your bloodstream. Keep some on you whenever you travel!
- Arnica Gel – Our CEO’s trick can let you worry about the task at hand rather than the bags forming under your eyes. After going a long time without sleep, the body’s circulation isn’t as good and circles form under the eyes because that area is one of the thinnest tissues in the body. Arnica gel opens those blood vessels right up. Spread a little under your eyes and you’ll be good to go!
Sleep, nutrition, and comfort are all important in staying happy, healthy, and focused. But life isn’t always as structured and nice as we’d like. With a little bit of planning you can make the best of a less than ideal situation and still come out on top.
